Junior Fire Alarm Engineer - Fire & Security - £17k - £19k - London. Seeking a Trainee Engineer, the role is suitable for a young ambitious individual with some electrical knowledge/qualification who wants to commence a career within the Fire & Security industry.

About the Client:

A National Fire and Security Company. My client is looking for a Junior Fire Alarm Engineer in and around London.

About the Role:

  • Shadow training will form part of the initial training, this will be followed up with internal classroom training on all life protection systems
  • The role will primarily involve carrying out the preventative maintenance on a variety of life protection systems (Fire Alarm, Radio Detection, Air Sampling, Beam Detection, Gas Suppression, Emergency Lighting, Portable Extinguishers)
  • Working hours: 8am to 5pm
  • Salary: £17K to £19k per annum, my client pay from home to home (all travel time paid for)
  • Overtime rates: 6am to 8am and 5pm to 7pm standard time, Weekdays 7pm to midnight time and a half. Midnight to 6am double time, Weekends Sat 6am to midnight time and a half, all day Sunday double time
  • Incentive payment: We offer an incentive payment of 5% parts and install on any small works leads that are converted to order that are generated by the engineer, capped at £250 payment

About the Candidate:

  • Must have an electrical qualification or hands on electrical experience perhaps working as an electricians mate
  • The individual will require excellent communication and administrative skills as they will be responsible for contacting customers within their region to arrange preventative maintenance visits ensuring that visits are completed on time
  • Full UK Driving License
  • No criminal convictions or police cautions
  • Individuals that show potential will be developed further with a view to them stepping up to one of our more technical roles (On Demand, Installation, Commissioning)

Points of Appeal:

  • A company car will be provided – A Renault Megan (tourer), a company logo is displayed in the rear window, a tracker is also fitted.  The car can be used in personal time, mileage is declared on the engineers expenses where we deduct 11p per mile for personal mileage
  • Holidays - 25 days per annum plus bank holidays, the engineer must save 3 days for Christmas for shutdown over the Christmas period (Increased by a further 5 days upon 10yrs service)
  • Pension – client contributes 3% of annual salary
  • Equipment – The engineer will be issued with all kit required to carry out their duties including PDA and laptop
  • Training – Training is provided
  • 4 Weeks paid sick pay (increases on length of service)
